DJ Ashba may not be a house hold name or as recognized as some of my past subjects, but to the fans of hard rock he is as beloved as any before him. DJ’s contribution to both Guns N’ Roses and Sixx A.M, along with his many ventures off stage have created a cult following like few others. His unique style that includes a multitude of tattoos, bandanas, hats and clothing from his own personal line made DJ a difficult but extremely fun subject to paint. This piece also gave me a rare opportunity to pay tribute to two different artists on the same canvas as I was able to include the guitar painted by a shared friend and legendary fine artist Michael Godard.
